Felt & Art Yarn = “Either/And” Collars

I hand-spun and lightly felted yarn and then made some felt using the same fibers and fabrics; when dry, I crocheted them together:

New Felted Work

Deep winter is a good time for feltmaking…

Felted “Amulet” Necklace made of Yak, Camel and Merino; embellished with embroidery and beading (I’m in the process of sewing partial linings — out of cowgirl-themed fabric — in these necklaces to cover the underside of the embroidery (more pics in the future). I’ve wanted to create small, wearable felted cases for a long time:

Hyacinth “Dot” Scarf — I used two deep colors of merino for the mid and under layers; careful working all along the edges resulted in a subtle “burnished” effect:

Nuno Felted Scarf — This blueberry-and-emerald hued scarf on Suzanne Morgan’s hand-dyed habotai silk measures 9″ x 70″ and weighs one ounce; the colors were inspired by Mount Nittany, a beautiful low mountain that’s visible from my home:
