Alpaca, Yak, Camel, Merino, Silk…

 

Hot off the work tables: A variety of felted merino scarves, each offered with a different felted “Torque” pin inspired by two trips to Ireland this summer and by the Celtic “torque” motifs there.  I’ve embellished each pin with gemstones and vintage beads and buttons.  To give my back and arms a rest from feltmaking, my current therapy has been creating art yarn that I spin on a drop spindle and lightly felt in the skein, then fashion into very kinetic necklaces.  Presently ON the work tables: Viking Princess Collars, also inspired by Ireland’s Viking spirit — a bit wild and wind-blown.  On my sketch pad: crocheted collars fashioned from hand-spun art yarn, fastened with felted and vintage buttons, because as the weather turns colder it’s so nice to spin and crochet and embellish…
