“Look to This Day”

No felting today: I am giving my fingers a much-needed rest.  The image, above, shows Lori Flood’s hand-dyed silk fabric.  Before I do anything to it, it’s already a work of art.  I love using her silks for nuno scarves, and aim to highlight and partner with her artistry in how I apply the fibers on her silk fabric.

Instead of an image of something felted, here is a favorite poem, written by Indian poet Kalidasa, around the year 400.   I offer it as a sort of antidote to all who are feeling overwhelmed:

Look to this day, for it is life, the very life of life.  In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of your existence.  The bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty.  For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision.  But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and tomorrow a vision of hope.  Look well, therefore, to this day!  Such is the salutation of the dawn.
